The 434th is a general jurisdiction court which hears criminal and civil cases and a few family cases when other District Courts have a conflict of interest.
Since I have been on this bench, I have presided over approximately 36 felony criminal jury trials and two civil jury trials. I have also heard several family, civil and criminal cases to the bench.
We are located on the first floor of the Travis Building, and I would welcome your attendance at any trial I have. The court was created in the legislature in 2006; and I was named to be its first judge in February of 2007, confirmed by the Texas Senate, and sworn in by Governor Perry on February 27, 2007.
If you have any doubt as to the job I have done, ask several attorneys for their opinion of my performance. I have not been reversed on any criminal, civil or family bench trial over which I have presided. I do expect to be reversed at some point in time because no one is perfect.
I always endeavor to treat people with dignity and respect and to always be fair and impartial. |
